Title

Keep It Personal

Scripture
And he said, “What have they seen in your house?” So Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house…”
(2 Kings 20:15)
Devotional
Not all bad news nor even good news is to be shared with everyone. Private information is often very essential for our personal well being. Information released at the wrong time can and usually does return as a curse. Furthermore, premature released information is more than often discharged boastfully. Here for example, good king Hezekiah showed the enemies of Israel all that he had, and his enemies used it against him. We likewise do not and should not release all of our information to whoever asks. There are to be well-kept matters. Be slow to release your financial situation to just anyone. There are charlatans out there waiting to pounce on your holdings. Likewise, do not advertise your vulnerabilities: such as the security of your home or the shortcoming s of your spouse. Be cautious yet without paranoia. Be slow to broadcast personal information. Remember, that is why it is called personal.
