Scripture
And there are many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.
(John 21:25)
Devotional
These final words of John’s Gospel demonstrate the awesomeness of the Word of God, the book we call the Bible. John rightfully realized the scope and grandeur of the Creator of the universe. Even the things that Jesus did in the few short years that John walked with Him were immeasurable. Notwithstanding, God has communicated all that we need to know about Him in this one volume known as the Bible. Even though the world could not contain the books about the life of Christ, the Bible in a few short gospels and epistles has revealed Him fully. All that we need to know about God for this mortality is revealed in its pages. The Bible is truly the Book of Life. It is the power of God. Therefore we are to be people of the Book. Read other books as desired. Nevertheless live the Book that is required.
