Devotional
Gideon was found by the angel of the Lord hiding from the Midianites. Each time the Lord gave him direction, Gideon asked for a confirmation. Yet God in essence said to him you have it within you to do my will. You would not have noticed it from the outward appearance. I think the same applies to many of us more than often. We may not have the outward appearance of strength and might, but God sees what we cannot. 1 Samuel 16:7 says it this way, "For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." Gideon became one of Israel's greatest judges. He won unprecedented victories over Israel's enemies. Let us never doubt the calling of the Lord in our lives. We may not believe that we have it in us to accomplish great and mighty exploits. But if God believes it of us, let us not doubt Him. When the challenge comes to reach out of your comfort zone, listen for the voice of the Lord saying, "Go in this might of yours… Have I not sent you?”Daily Reading
