Title

Spontaneous Praise

Scripture
To the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
(1 Timothy 1:17)
Devotional
In the midst of the apostle's testimony comes this spontaneous prayer of praise. Adoration and exultation are the norm in all his epistles. He praises God in all things and worships Him through all things. Praise appears to be Paul's mantle. He praised God for His goodness, mercy and kindness. He also praised Him when he suffered. Its been said that the difference between praise and worship is that praise is being thankful for what one has and worship is being thankful for what one suffers. Both recognize the sovereignty and goodness of God. When was the last time you broke out into spontaneous praise? Most likely it was for God's goodness. It might not be spontaneous, nevertheless, maybe, just maybe, the next time you find your self in the midst of suffering you may wish to say, "Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen."
