Finding Favor With Leadership

Scripture
The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
(Proverbs 19:12)
Devotional
Finding favor is one of the wisest things we can do, especially with regard to leadership. Whether it is political, militaristic or business, finding the good favor or those in command is not only wise, but also godly. It is not a matter finding favor for favor's sake, but it is a matter of giving due respect on honor to whom it is due. We live in a society that desires to honor rebels and rebel against authority. Authority is a very good thing; without it anarchy is the result. And anarchy will always bring the wrath of the king. It must, for anarchy is the worst form of government. Therefore let us seek to honor those to whom honor is due, respect to whom respect, dignity to whom dignity and reverence to who reverence is due. Due on the grass is better than the roaring of the lion. Let us begin by honoring God and then honoring those whom He has called for us to honor.
