Title

People of the Everlasting Covenant

Scripture
The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
(Isaiah 24:5)
Devotional
Mankind cannot legislate against, nullify or amend the laws of God. The kingdom of God is neither a democracy nor a republic. No matter how tolerant we may become of sin, God can never tolerate it. Sin has not changed. That which was sin the garden is sin in our cities. The sins of Sodom and Gomorrah remain sins today. God has not changed His mind. The Ten Commandments have not been relegated to the rank of the ten recommendations. No matter how sophisticated a society may think it has become, no society can outrank the order of its Creator. The moral law of God is the everlasting covenant of God. This covenant cannot be annulled. We may violate it, but we can never invalidate it. Jesus said, “It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one tittle of the law to fail.” Therefore let us be people of the everlasting covenant.
