Title

The Hazard Of One Wrong Step

Scripture
Nevertheless Josiah… did not heed the words … from the mouth of God…
(2 Chronicles 35:22)
Devotional
Josiah became king when he was eight years old. At sixteen, he began to seek the Lord, and therefore became a great king. However, because he once failed to God’s Word, he died. He died in a battle that was not his. What a sad lesson. We can obey God ninety-nine times out of one-hundred, yet it only takes one step of disobedience to fall. There is simply no from for insubordination in God’s kingdom. It is never right to do wrong. One intentional rebellion against God cancels out countless steps of obedience. You cannot be faithful to your spouse most of the time. You must be faithful all the time. If you steal once, you are a thief. If you murder once, you are a murderer. Neither is there room for occasional slothfulness, lying, bitterness, or pride. . There is just no room for sin in God’s kingdom.
