Devotional
David did not sin against God because of his anger. I believe that David’s anger was against the situation he may have caused. The preparation for the moving of the ark of God was not appropriate. David, in haste haphazardly obeyed the Lord. Greater care with regard to instructions should have been given to the servants. He failed to do so and the result was deadly. The lesson here is for us not to take the things of God with mediocrity. When God calls us to a task, we should prepare in every realm. We are to prepare ourselves spiritually above all. We are to teach those who are working with us. All that we do, should be done decently and in an orderly fashion. When we fail to heed the directions of God, and we find ourselves angry, let it be toward the situation, not people, and above all, not God.Daily Reading
