Wait On Your Masters

Scripture
Whoever keeps the fig tree will eat its fruit; So he who waits on his master will be honored.
(Proverbs 27:18)
Devotional
Several years ago, I worked for my older brother building and marketing a resort complex in Mexico. I did not know a thing about either. However one thing I endeavored to do, and that was whatever my brother instructed me to do. I followed him everywhere. I mimicked his every move. And because I did so, I prospered. I kept the fig tree and got to eat of its fruit. I honored him and succeeded at my endeavors. The only thing better than being mentored is being obedient in your mentoring. I followed my brother's directions to the letter, not always understanding or sometimes even agreeing. But as long as what he told me to do did not violate my conscience, I did it. And God blessed it. I did have an advantage; it was my brother whom I was following. Nevertheless I have learned to apply this principle to every aspect of my life and God has blessed my endeavors.
