Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way. (Psalm 37:7)
Good things do come to those who wait patiently in the Lord. Good things are not rushed, they are achieved. The Lord's way is the way of patience. Man's way is that of instant temporary indulgence. There are those who experience instant prosperity seemingly effortlessly. Those who prosper in this way are short-lived. Those that prosper in God's way receive an eternal reward. When you see the wicked prosper, God says "Do not fret." We are not to be troubled by what others do or have. We are to be patient, knowing that the Lord is in total control. All I need to do is be patient and wait. It will come. Now, waiting on the Lord does not mean we are to sit and do nothing. Waiting on the Lord requires the work of the Lord. We are to work while we wait for the reward of our obedience and patience. Remember, Jesus said, "By your patience possess your souls."
